Co-founder of 12thmanthunder.com, Charles Pellien joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss A&M’s actions against the group looking to keep the Bills in Buffalo. He said that despite their best efforts to change the name of their group and comply with A&M’s demands, they are still being pursued legally due to the domains they purchased including the phrase “12th Man.” Pellien is not sure if A&M will continue to pursue legal action at this point as they have tried to do the majority of the things A&M asked of them.
Houston Chronicle writer Jonathan Feigen joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss the Rockets in free agency. Feigen said they will sell Carmelo Anthony on being on a team with a big 3 in their meeting tomorrow. He also discussed the routes the Rockets could take to trade Jeremy Lin. Feigen talked about the potential of the Rockets going after Kevin Love. He said regardless of who they go after, the guys who are currently on the Rockets roster need to really work to improve their defense.
R. J. Choppy, 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip to discuss Mavs in free agency. He talked about how Dirk Nowitzki will likely take a pay cut to stay with the Mavs as they make a move at Carmelo Anthony. Choppy said they are also pursuing guys like Luol Deng. He briefly discussed the Cowboys signing Rolando McClain. He also said the Cowboys will always be run the way Jerry Jones wants it to be as long as Jerry Jones is around. Then Mark Grote 670 The Score in Chicago came on to discuss Carmelo Anthony’s visit to the Bulls. He said getting Carmelo Anthony would make the Bulls good enough to beat the Heat if Derrick Rose is healthy.
CSN Houston’s Sebastian Salazar joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss the USA vs Belgium game tomorrow in the World Cup. He discussed some of the interesting game time situations that have occurred in the World Cup so far. Salazar said that France and the Netherlands have been performing pretty well so far in the Cup and Germany not as well as expected. He discussed concerns with Jozy Altidore’s hamstring and said it would be a huge risk to start him against Belgium tomorrow. Salazar analyzed the way that the US has played against their other opponents and what they need to do against Belgium.
Orlando Alzugaray, 640 Sports Miami, joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show on the Road Trip to talk about NBA free agency. He says LeBron James really is in control right now and a lot depends on what he chooses and that will have a big impact on the Big 3. He says Kyle Lowry is a huge target in free agency for teams. Alzugaray doesn’t think LeBron James has any reason to go anywhere.
John Dickinson, 98.7 The Game, joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss NBA trade rumors in the Road Trip. He said he had not heard about a Lin or Parsons trade with the Warriors. He said a Kevin Love trade has potential to happen. Dickinson thinks getting Love would really boost the team up the ranks. He discussed some other elements the team has been looking to improve as well.
CSN Houston’s Sebastian Salazar joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss tomorrow’s big game between the USA and German teams in the world Cup. First he weighed in a bit on the biting incident with Luis Suarez saying some people don’t understand just how intense these players get while playing the game. They discussed how the issues the Ghana players were having with boycotting practice for not being paid could impact the match with Portugal tomorrow and what that in turn would mean for the US. Salazar said that a spectacular performance from goalie Tim Howard is the key to the US doing well in tomorrow’s game. He thinks that the US will tie with Germany tomorrow.
Tonight the B-Straw & Pauly G Show Road Trip traveled to New York to talk to WFAN’s Marc Malusis about free agency and potential trades in the NBA. He discussed the trades the Knicks have made so far in the off season. Malusis thinks that it is far fetched that Carmelo Anthony would be traded to the Rockets for James Harden. He talked about some of the possible moves that coach Phil Jackson is looking to make.
Mark Grote of WSCR joined The B-Straw and Pauly G Show to discuss LeBron opting out today. Grote doesn’t think the Bulls would be able to make it work for LeBron to come to the team. He also discussed how Derrick Rose’s injury is healing up. He said that the talk is all optimistic for Rose to come back but it’ll be hard to tell until he is really back.
Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk.com joined The B-Straw & Pauly G Show to discuss LeBron James opting out. Helin doesn’t buy into LeBron going back to Cleveland and says that’s like going back to your wife after a few years with your mistress. He thinks the Rockets have to go after LeBron but says it will be a really hard sell if only because they’re in the West. He thinks whether LeBron stays or leaves Miami depends on if Chris Bosh opts in or not.
