Businesses Won’t Have To Return BP Spill Payouts

A federal judge has ruled that BP must stand by the agreement made with the companies it compensated for losses after the 2010 Gulf oil spill despite the oil giant saying some claims were overestimated.

Judge Won’t Block New Round Of BP Seafood Payments

A federal judge refused Wednesday to halt payments from a BP fund to compensate deckhands and other seafood workers harmed financially by the 2010 Gulf oil spill, turning back arguments by the oil giant that the payment process was tainted by a Texas lawyer’s alleged fraud.

Louisiana AG: Judge Is Ignoring State’s BP Claims

Louisiana Attorney General James “Buddy” Caldwell has accused a federal judge of ignoring the state’s claims over BP’s 2010 Gulf oil spill and asked an appeals court to intervene.
