Cleverley Stone is a broadcaster and philanthropist. She covers the food scene on radio and television and as the founder of Houston Restaurant Weeks, Cleverley has raised more than $7.6 million since 2003, creating almost 23 million meals to fight hunger in our city. Her event is the largest annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank, largest food bank in the nation.
Cleverley has covered Houston’s food scene since 1997 and dominates the media. She is the only food journalist to air simultaneously on television and radio in Houston, the fourth largest city in America. A radio broadcaster since 2003, Cleverley can be heard each Saturday from 9 AM to Noon/central as the host of The Cleverley Show, a food talk program on Houston’s CBS SportsRadio 650 / KIKK-AM. Since 2008 she has been food segment contributor to Houston’s FOX 26 Morning News. She is also very active in social media.

On October 10, 2012, Houston Mayor Annise Parker proclaimed October 10th as ‘Cleverley Stone Day’ in Houston for her philanthropic work to feed Houston’s hungry. Since 2003 Cleverley’s event, Houston Restaurant Weeks, has raised over $5.9 million dollars for the Houston Food Bank. And she’s done it all as a volunteer. Through her leadership and passion Cleverley Stone has created a legacy of a lifetime with her event, Houston Restaurant Weeks, and she has made an enormous impact in the fight against hunger and the issues that surround it. April 25, 2015 – Facebook Houston Foodie Friend member Dolly Cruise let me know that she was listening to my #food #talk #radio show online at www.CBS650.com from Charleston, South Carolina.
Chef Steve Haug from Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House (a radio partner) was a guest on the show and when I read Dolly’s text out loud on the show Steve said: “Dolly, try to visit Hall’s Chophouse while you are in Charleston. My friend and former Del Frisco’s/Dallas associate Tommy Hall owns it.”
Well, Dolly did visit Hall’s Chophouse that day, had a delicious meal (as you can see from the photos below) and met Tommy Hall (see photo). How cool is that!?
