1. Quarterback Matt Leinart
Matt Leinart: What will he show against the Jets defense? Has much really changed since he came over to the Texans? I need to see him command this offense and take another step towards “owning it” as an NFL QB. -- Dan Mathews

2. Linebacker Brooks Reed
Brooks Reed: Is making a position switch after playing defensive end for most of his career at Arizona. Still an edge-rusher, the outside linebacker will have to show he’s got command of the angles from the position and can get to the QB. I think he can. -- Dan Mathews

3. Texans Receivers
Texans WRs: Gary Kubiak praised Lestar Jean on Saturday and I’m interested to see how well he plays. Terrance Tolliver… Still struggling with consistency catching the ball. But, he could make some huge plays for you and he needs that confidence. For me, Jeff Maehl is destined for the practice squad. Needs to add some size. But his route running ability and competitive edge make you think a little about him. But, it’ll be interesting to see how he does tonight. Plus, don’t forget about what DeVard Darling can do. I want to see if Rick Dennison and Gary Kubiak open up the playbook with a deep bomb, with the 4.4 40 time speed. -- Dan Mathews

4. Outside linebacker Connor Barwin
Connor Barwin: He’s making his third position switch in four years. I want to see if he can play standing up and even dropping back into coverage. -- Dan Mathews

5. Outside linebacker Mario Williams
Mario Williams: Consistency Every play… Can he keep contain at the WOLB spot on running plays? He’s got to do his job of getting to the QB. -- Dan Mathews
