What I love about Houston: Best place in America to raise a family

Favorite four-letter word: !*%#, no $&!%, no !*%#

Favorite people to interview: Enjoy interviewing media from other cities (more honest than players and coaches).

Favorite interviews: Ted Turner, Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Dan LeBatard, Gary Danielson

Experience: Four years hosting regionally-syndicated program dedicated to Southern sports, specifically college football. Improvisational training at Second City Theater in Chicago.

Teams followed: Ole Miss Rebels, Chicago Bears, Bulls, Black Hawks, White Sox, and of course Texans & Rockets!

Favorite sports experiences:

  • [attended] USC-Texas & Texas-Alabama BCS Title games
  • 1992 NBA Finals Game 2 (Bulls-Lakers)
  • 1995 Braves World Series clinching victory
  • 1996 Atlanta Olympics
  • Ole Miss 1994 victory over Alabama

Sports played:

  • Football (through Sr. year of high school)
  • Baseball (through freshman year of high school 1B, P, OF)
  • Wrestling (through Sophomore year of high school), Gymnastics (Freshman, Sophomore years of high school)
  • Basketball (junior high)

Family: Wife Kathryn and two daughters

More: Growing up in Chicago talk radio was huge. Let’s face it, the teams were rarely competitive so the conversation about sports, life, politics, etc. provided a compelling escape.  From an early age I wanted to be involved in radio, I just needed the forum of sports radio to be invented. To me, the CBS “Eye” is the most iconic symbol/logo in media, and to have the privilege to work for CBS in the nation’s sixth largest market – and perhaps best place to raise my family is truly a dream come true.  I’m well aware how fortunate I am.

Johnny Manziel – allegedly broke the rules by signing memorabilia in exchange for money, seemingly at every chance he got, without regard for his teammates, his coaches, his school, or his fanbase.

Texans QB Schaub Responds To Critics

Despite the 19-13 victory over the Bengals – Shaub’s first playoff win as an NFL starting QB, harsh criticism continues to flow his way.

Texans Make Path To New Orleans Difficult

More importantly I believe, he [Matt Schaub] has lost the faith of his head coach. Faith displayed when the coach gave him a four year contract extension.
