Offer that girl a cookie and suddenly it’s “what pain?!” Soccer encourages this melodrama as if contact with an opposing player will require life-flight and most likely an organ transplant. But give that team the ball and suddenly it’s “what injury?!”

Houston Dynamo Captain Brad Davis made his first World Cup Roster, Landon Donovan left off.
Chris Rolfe and Fabian Espindola scored in D.C. United’s 2-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday night.
They also assisted each other’s goals in the victory, United’s first against Houston in eight regular-season or playoff games in more than two years.
United (5-3-3) moved ahead of the Dynamo (5-6-2) and into second place in the Eastern Conference.
The Houston Dynamo will be hoping to send their captain to Brazil this summer for the 2014 World Cup. Brad Davis was named to the US Soccer World Cup preliminary roster on Monday. The 30 man roster is the final 30 that head coach Jurgen Klinsmann will whittle down to 23 for the trip to Brazil.
he Houston Dynamo will be on a month long break during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but not all their players will be. Midfielder Boniek Garcia will most likely not get a break as he was named to the 23 player pre-World Cup Camp for his native country of Honduras.
Boniek played in all of the 16 qualifying matches on the way to the country’s second straight Finals appearance. Honduras will play three games in the U.S. to prepare for their games in Brazil, including one at BBVA Compass Stadium on June 1st against Israel.
