UPDATED (3:05 pm CT) – Jimmy Ray III named Assistant GM to replace Brian Gaine who vacated the Director of Player Personnel for the Houston Texans.
“I am so grateful and pleased to add the character, depth and experience Jimmy Raye brings to our group,” said Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Rick Smith. “He is a highly respected, seasoned executive that will provide new ideas and a fresh perspective to our entire football operation. Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Veteran NFL Personnel man Jimmy Raye III will likely replace Brian Gaine as the Houston Texans director of player personnel according to SportsRadio 610’s John McClain.
Gaine, with the Texans for three years, left the team to be the VP of player personnel for the Buffalo Bills. Rick Smith and the Texans then looked to fill Gaines role and reports say that Raye is likely the replacement.
Raye was most recently with the Indianapolis Colts as the VP of football operations for the previous four seasons. Raye spent 17 seasons before that with the San Diego’s Chargers
