Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Houston Rockets star James Harden is reportedly being sued by the son of NBA legend Moses Malone, Moses Malone Jr.
The suit, reported by Fox 26 first, which alleges Harden paid for a group of people to attack Malone at a V-Live strip club in 2016. According to the report, Harden paid $20,000 in cash for the assault and robbery.
Harden’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin said, “I am in Boston for depositions so I haven’t seen the petition, but I have previously discussed Moses’ allegations with James and others, and I am totally comfortable that the allegations are untrue,” per Carey. “Unfortunately, I am afraid this is just another example of people shopping for a deep pocket when they find that the people actually responsible have no money.”
Four men were charged in 2016 with aggravated robbery from the incident which also saw Malone robbed of $15,000 in jewelry.
The attack, according to Malone’s attorney, stemmed from criticism of Harden for charging children for a basketball camp.
