Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Football doesn’t last forever, and while J.J. Watt has many sacks still left in him, the three-time defensive player of the year might already have a job waiting for him for whenever decides to hang up his cleats.
“When he’s ready for that, I tell you, Hollywood is chomping at bit to get him in the movies and to make him one of the next action hero’s,” Arnold Schwarzenegger said Saturday in advance of the J.J. Watt Charity Classic. “He’s already an action hero on the field, it would be very easy for him to be an action hero in movies. He has the right look, he has the right body, he has the right personality, he’s very outgoing, he has great-great talent I think in acting, so I think that he’s going to go far.”
Hollywood is nothing new to Watt, he’s already appeared in TV shows, the League, New Girl, and just last year he had a role in the movie Bad Moms.
While the bright lights of Tinseltown are pretty alluring, Watt isn’t finished with the NFL just yet. Playing a lead role in a Hollywood blockbuster might be easier than chasing quarterback’s all over the field, but right now it’s what Watt enjoys to do.
With an endorsement from Mr. Action Hero himself, it’s hard not to believe that Watt won’t eventually become a massive movie star when he’s finally finished terminating quarterbacks on the field.
If a fourth Expendables gets made, could Watt and Schwarzenegger share screen time?
You never know.
