Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans signed their first round pick Deshaun Watson and second round pick Zach Cunningham on Friday, SportsRadio 610’s John McClain reported.
The rookies are the latest two of the Texans draft class to sign with the team. Watson, drafted 12th overall, will get a 4-year deal worth $13.8 mil, $8.21 signing bonus. There is a fifth-year team option build into all first round pick contracts. Cunningham gets a 4-year deal as well worth $4.47 mil with $1.39 signing bonus. There is no fifth-year option for Cunningham.
Third round pick, RB D’Onta Foreman, is the only draft pick yet to sign, but the two most important picks are locked down heading into Texans rookie mini-camp this weekend.
Watson has already picked up endorsements for his star status, debuting an ad for Beats By Dre this week.
