Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – If you’ve been to a Houston Astros game this year or watched one on TV you’ve probably noticed the Minute Maid Park “Woo!” birds.  These are fans giving the classic Wrestling Mega Star Ric Flair “Woo” for new Astros Right Fielder Josh Reddick. Reddick is a huge wrestling fan who idolized Flair as a kid. He wears a “Woo” tank top around Minute Maid before and after games (during games he wears a full Spider-man suit under his uniform) and just received a new Astros themed championship belt.

Reddick has become a fan favorite (as he was in Oakland before Houston) and the fans have started serenading Reddick and other Astros throughout the game with the “Woo!” It apparently is getting on the nerves of some visitors to the Juice Box.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Stefan Stevenson wrote this week after the Rangers visited and lost 3 of 4, “The ‘Woo!’ is lame, especially at a baseball game.” But too bad for Stevenson, the owner of that “Woo!” is a fan.

Flair quote tweeted that tweet from Stevenson in support of the Astros fans “Woo!”

If the Nature Boy says it’s here to stay, it’s here to stay. Reddick, as well as J.J. Watt, have retweeted Flair’s endorsement. So when you head to the park for your next Astros game. Bring your “Woo!”
