San Antonio (CBS HOUSTON) – The San Antonio Spurs will be without Tony Parker for the rest of the playoffs according to multiple media reports. SportsRadio 610 learned from sources close to the Spurs that Parker will have surgery soon on what is reported by ESPN and other outlets to be a torn quadriceps muscle. The Spurs are heading to Houston to get ready for game 3 against the Rockets Friday night at Toyota Center.
Parker went down during the Spurs 121-96 Game 2 win against the Rockets after falling 126-99 in Game 1. Patty Mills will take over the starting duties for the Spurs in Parker’s absence. Parker has played in 221 playoff games in his career. He will miss a playoff start for the first time since 2010 playoffs.
