Texas Running Back D’Onta Foreman Taken By Texans In 3rd Round

PHILADELPHIA (CBS HOUSTON) – Texas Longhorns running back D’Onta Foreman becomes the third player taken by the Texans in the 2017 NFL draft with the 89th overall selection and 25th pick in the third round. 

Foreman was the 2017 Doak Walker award winner which is given to the nation’s top running back and was named a consensus All American after he rushed for a career best 2208 yards with 15 rushing touchdowns with the Longhorns.  His 2208 yards were the second highest total in FBS in 2016.

Foreman played his high school ball just 42 miles from NRG Stadium at Texas City high school rushing for 4,382 yards and 61 career high school touchdowns during his high school career.

Foreman is the the fourth running back taken by the Texans in their last four drafts taking Alfred Blue in 2014, Kenny Hilliard in 2015, and Tyler Ervin in 2016.
