PHILADELPHIA (CBS HOUSTON) – The Jacksonville Jaguars selected LSU running back Leonard Fournette with the fourth overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft from Philadelphia.
Fournette was considered the top running back prospect in the draft and prior to the 2016 college football season was considered a heavy favorite to win the Heisman trophy. Fournette played in just seven games for the Tigers rushing for 843 yards and eight touchdowns.
Fournette dealt with an ankle injury throughout 2016 after a remarkable sophomore season when he rushed for 1953 yards and 22 touchdowns in 11 games for the Tigers.
