As Patrick Mahomes gets ready to be drafted into the NFL now is a time to show off his abilities to all that are looking. He’s had private workouts, including with the Texans, but he took his talents to the NFL network Tuesday to show off his superior arm strength.
Mahomes and former Texans quarterback David Carr headed outside to see who could throw the faster ball.
Right from the start, Mahomes bests the former number one overall pick throwing 58 mph to Carr’s 54.
Mahomes stayed consistent throwing 58 again on his second throw and then telling the crew he is going to hit 60. Mahomes, who is the son of former Major League Pitcher Patrick Mahomes, said he’d been clocked as high as 96 when he was a pitcher in high school.
On the final throw, Carr couldn’t even hit Mahomes’ lowest toss, maxing out at 57MPH. But the future first-round pick broke out a 62 MPH hurl to finish it off.
