Former Patriot TE Aaron Hernandez Commits Suicide

Shirley, Mass (CBS Houston) – Former New England Patriots Tight End Aaron Hernandez was found in his jail cell Wednesday morning dead from hanging himself from his ceiling, authorities said in a statement.

“Aaron Hernandez was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers,” the statement from Souza Baranowski correctional facility’s director of communications read. “Live saving techniquies were attempted on Mr. Hernandez and he was transported to UMASS Leominster where he was pronounced dead at 4:07am.”

Hernandez was serving time for murder and had just found not guilty of a double murder charge he was facing in another case.

Hernandez played 3 years in the NFL for the New England Patriots where he caught 18 touchdowns and gained almost 2,000 yards as a tight end.
