HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – The Texans are using their limited time remaining prior to the 2017 NFL Draft to get all the information they can on the top quarterbacks that will be available when the first round begins on the evening April 27th.
The Texans are already expected to meet in-person with former Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson on Monday and Tuesday, but the meetings do not stop there. Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reported on Sunday that the Texans were meeting former Texas Tech quarterback Pat Mahomes on Sunday and continue that visit into Monday.
Mahomes is expected to be among the top quarterbacks selected in the draft. The Texans hold the 25th pick in the first round and would likely have to trade up in order to draft the former Red Raider signal caller.
Mahomes has already held visits with the Jets, Browns, Steelers, Cardinals and several others.
