Houston (CBS Houston) – After being shutout for the first time this season last week, the Dynamo return home in hopes of righting the ship.
Saturday’s matchup against Minnesota United FC will be the first meeting in series history as the Loons are in their first MLS season. Like the Dynamo, Minnesota United FC was shutout for the first time this season last week in a 2-0 lost to FC Dallas.
After last week’s performance, the pattern continued for the Dynamo, where they win at home and lose on the road. On the season, the Dynamo have won all three home matches but have lost both matches away from home.
The Dynamo are led by Erick Torres who leads the league with six goals. With four assists, Alex is also tied for the league lead in that category.
Romell Quioto could be available for minutes Saturday night as he is listed as questionable to play as he continues to recover from his shoulder injury. Things aren’t as good for A.J. DeLaGarza who has been ruled out with a calf strain, and Leonardo is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
In their inaugural season in the MLS, Minnesota United FC is 1-4-1 and have surrendered a league high 22 goals. The Loons have struggled on the road as well with a 0-3-1 record. They’ve played better as of late with a win two weeks ago against Real Salt Lake before being shutout last week at Dallas.
Christian Ramirez leads the Loons with four goals while Kevin Molino has chipped in with three.
Listen to Saturday’s match beginning with the prematch show at 7 p.m. on Sports Radio 610.
