There wasn’t much of a reaction following the Rockets 114-109 loss to the Detroit Pistons Friday night at Toyota Center. There was certainly disappointment after getting outscored 39-22 in the fourth quarter, but most of the focus was on the return of Ryan Anderson, that is until Patrick Beverley stood up at his locker, and turned around and faced reporters.
“What happened tonight was bullshit,” he declared in a rant that spanned 28 seconds.
“We didn’t play together, we didn’t execute; we didn’t defend. I don’t care if this didn’t count, this is an NBA game, and we’re trying to have good habits, and we didn’t create good habits tonight.
The Rockets led for much of the game’s first 3 quarters, taking a 12-point lead into the fourth, but Beverley was upset about his team’s play from the jump.
“We didn’t play well at all tonight, we didn’t. We have to play better if we’re talking about winning championships. I don’t care if this is one of the few last games of the season, we have to play better, and that’s everybody.
The Rockets have three games left in the regular season, starting Sunday in Sacramento.
