REPORT: Tony Romo To Retire From Football In Favor Of Broadcasting Career

Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans dream of bringing in Tony Romo to start for them in 2017 seems to be over as the 36-year-old quarterback will reportedly opt for a career in broadcasting over playing for someone that is not the Dallas Cowboys.

A report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter says the Cowboys were planning on releasing Romo on Tuesday, but he will opt for a career in the booth.  It is not known yet whether Romo will join the broadcast group with FOX, CBS or NBC, but rumors last week said that CBS was willing to allow Romo to broadcast with their Masters crew. Romo an avid golfer tried multiple times to make the US Open during his career in the NFL.
