Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans might be getting one step closer to signing Tony Romo. Jerry Jones is allowing other teams to work out the Cowboys quarterback according to a tweet from Mike Garafolo from NFL.com.
This is a big step in the possible movement for Romo to another team, but it is also a move that helps Jerry Jones get something out of the deal instead of just releasing the soon to be 37 y/o QB. Romo is coming off back injuries in two consecutive seasons that gives many teams concerns, and the visits with teams would allow their doctors to look at the veteran’s health before making a deal.
There has been no word yet on if the Texans have reached out to Romo.
