UPDATE: This was obviously an April fools joke by the Dynamo. They did just fine without Davis, beating the Red Bulls 4-1 Saturday night.
Houston (CBS HOUSTON) - The Houston Dynamo have found a replacement for the injured Romell Quioto in former captain Brad Davis the team reported Saturday.
Davis who signed a one day contract on February 16th so he could retire as a Member of the Dynamo had that contract extended to a second day and will suit up one more time for the Forever Orange faithful.
“I was a little disappointed when I signed back in February that I wasn’t able to make an impact on the field,” Davis said. “So it was great to get that phone call and have the chance to put on the Dynamo orange for another day."
Davis is the team's career leader in assists (104), game-winning assists (34), games played (271), games started (252), minutes played (21,768), shots (437), shots on goal (184), corner kicks (995).
"He's a Dynamo legend," team President Chris Canetti said. "It'll be great to have him back at BBVA Compass Stadium."
There is a chance this is just an April Fools joke from the team but we have not been able to confirm that.
