Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans are likely interested in Tony Romo when he is released on Thursday from the Dallas Cowboys. While no one knows where Romo will sign, the Texans are an option as Houston is not on Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones’ secret list of the “Do-Right Rule” teams for Romo.
Jones over the weekend, while he can’t tell Romo who to sign with, there is a do-right rule in place with the Cowboys long-time signal caller. On Wednesday, Benjamin Allbright from 104.7 FM in Denver told John Lopez and Cody Stoots on In The Loop on SportsRadio 610 on Wednesday that while Romo and Jones have a handshake rule on where Tony can play, Houston is not on that list.
“That handshake agreement included a deal with Jerry to do-right by Jerry and not sign with division rivals,” Allbright said of where Jerry wants Romo landing after he is released. “Jerry is kind of really pushing for Tony to go ahead and go to Denver. Houston is kind of in the back yard there, not excluded but Jerry is kind of gently suggesting Denver would be a better fit.”
