UPDATED (4:10pm): Mr. Mitcht T Firkins is the owner of this tattoo. He posted the photo it on his facebook page on Friday, March 4th with the caption: “This is the titans after 2017 season titan up and no negative comments.” He prefaced that with a “Getting my new tattoo now titan [sic] up” post on Facebook.
We asked Mr. Firkins why he decided to get the tattoo declaring the Titans victors of the 2017 season.
“When the season is over you will see why. Titan up,” Firkins said. Adding, “I’ve done got run down the road over this.”
Firkins told us he goes to the Titans caravan every year and is a diehard fan of the team that moved to Tennessee from Houston in 1998.
ORIGINAL POST [3/7/17 – 12:15p]:
We’re not sure where this is photo is from, but J. Guzman an admin for the Tennessee Titans fan forum TitansReport.com shared the photo of a man with “2017 AFC South Champions” and the Titans logo tattooed on his left forearm. So, just don’t worry about playing 2017 Texans. It’s over. Titans got this.
Obviously, no one knows if the Titans will win the AFC South in 2017, but they weren’t far off in 2016, falling just one game behind the Houston Texans. The weirder thing might be that someone would get a tattoo of winning a division. It’s been a bad run in Tennessee, so the bar is low, but is it really that low?
If you know who this person is, please track him down and ask him what he was thinking. Thank you.
