Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Future Flight exhibit at Super Bowl Live is NASA’s display for the public to see their plans for a journey to Mars and beyond. Super Bowl Host Committee Member Ric Campo was excited to formally introduce the area to the public.
“Super Bowl live has been an incredible hit. We had over 100,000 people go through this weekend and we are well on our way to achieving our one million mark by Super Bowl Sunday,” Ric said. “Our partnership with NASA is just amazing, and all the aerospace companies involved.”
With all the attractions that the Super Bowl brings that relate to football, this offers a different experience for fans other than sports.
“What this is about is, putting smiles on people’s faces, educating them about how important deep space research is… It’s all about education and engaging the community,” Ric said.
Future Flight’s showcase experience is the virtual reality ride that takes you into space. Also, there is a 90-foot drop called “The Journey to Mars”. There are also displays of the rocket engines, a rover vehicle and a full-size model of a space telescope.
