The Texans looked to have an easy match-up on their hands Sunday when the lowly Jaguars came to town on an eight game losing streak. However, the Jaguars picked off Brock Osweiler twice in the first quarter and change and led 13-0 with 8:32 to go in the first half.
That’s when head coach Bill O’Brien decided to make a change at the QB spot, benching Osweiler (6/11 48 yards 2 INT) in favor of his backup Tom Savage. Savage entered the game to a chorus of cheers from the Houston fans and he kept the good vibes going by completing a long pass to little used wide receiver Wendall Williams.
Savage eventually led the offense down to the one yard line, but the team was unable to punch it in on four attempts from there.
