Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans have been playing with a depleted wide receiving core for almost the entire year. With injuries at different times to Will Fuller, Braxton Miller and Jaelen Strong this year, they needed some help.
The team signed WR Wendall Williams from their practice squad on Tuesday.
Williams was solid for the Texans in the preseason and shined in training camp with solid hands and great speed, but couldn’t crack the original 53-man roster. Now with Jaelen strong on the Injured Reserve for the rest of the year and Braxton Miller still nursing some injuries, Williams can get his shot on the Active roster.
