Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans Saturday made a roster move and placed wide receiver Jaelen Strong on injured reserve which will effectively end his 2016 season.
Strong had been on the sidelines for the past couple of weeks with an ankle injury, but Wednesday returned to practice and head coach Bill O’Brien listed him as day to day.
Two days later Strong was back not practicing and was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.
With Braxton Miller also ruled out, the Texans will only have four active wide receivers Sunday.
Taking Strong’s place on the roster the team promoted cornerback Denzel Rice from the practice squad.
