Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Fan favorite cornerback Charles James may not be with the Houston Texans anymore, but his presence still lingers at NRG stadium.

“He still texts me saying he’s rooting for all of us,” A.J. Bouye said. “He’s always still asking what’s going on around here like he’s sick or something, he misses it, but it’s tough, the energy is a little different, you don’t have someone loud around here, but we miss him.”

Always loved by the players, but James’ personality was broadcast to the whole country during HBO’s “Hard Knocks” series last year and fans instantly fell in love with the hard-working corner with a passion for crazy socks.

This year James was tabbed by the Texans to sell his clothing line (Texans themed socks and hats) at the team’s shops. As of Thursday, his clothing section at the Texans shop was still up and still at full price.

James might have been cut, but his teammate’s memories of him and his section in the Texans shop, a part of him will always be here.
