Bill Snyder Stands Behind 12’s Decision Not To Expand

Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – One of the biggest stories in the college football season had nothing to do with actual football games.

The talk of the college football world was would the Big 12 finally add to its 10 member conference. After plenty of hemming and hawing, mid-October it was announced that the Big 12 would stay intact and not expand.

“I’m ok with whatever our conference chooses to do,” Kansas State head football coach Bill Snyder said during his Advocare Texas Bowl press conference.

What Snyder did share is that he misses the Big 12 championship game.

“I loved the organization plan we had many years ago which was 12 teams, two divisions, and a championship game,” Snyder said.

In 2017 Snyder will get to see the championship game revived, but with the Big 12 still sitting at 10 members for the foreseeable future, seeing two divisions won’t happen anytime soon.
