Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – It seemed the Dontas Motiejunas contract situation had come to an end for the center and the Houston Rockets. The oft-injured big man had received a contract offer from the Brooklyn Nets over the weekend. The Rockets matched the offer from the Nets on Monday. This meant that Montiejunas, who was a restricted Free Agent, would now sign with the Rockets and be under team control.
That is until the seven-foot center didn’t show up for his Physical on Tuesday. According to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle, Motiejunas and his agent B.J. Armstrong are not planning on signing with the Rockets at all.
The Rockets could return Motiejunas to being a restricted free agent where he could still sign with the Nets.
