Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Astros have made their first major off season move trading for veteran catcher Brian McCann from the Yankees.

Jorge Guzman and Albert Abreu were sent to the Yankees for the 6’3″ 225lb catcher.  Both of the players the Astros let go are low level minor league prospects.

McCann, entering his 13th year in the league played the last three for the Yankees after playing 10 with the Atlanta Braves.  McCann has made seven All-Star appearances in his career, all for the Braves.  He is a career .266 hitter with 245 career home runs.
