Texans Sign RB Akeem Hunt To Active Roster

Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The Houston Texans have activated running back Akeem Hunt from the practice squad on Saturday before the team faces the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon.

Hunt, who played in seven games for the Texans in 2015 didn’t make the squad out of training camp but was signed to the practice squad.

Starting RB Lamar Miller had been battling a shoulder injury before the bye week in week 9 but seems healthy now, not showing up on the Texans injury report.  Third-string running back Johnathon Grimes is questionable heading into the game with an unspecified illness.

Hunt also could help the Texans in the return game as he played that role in 2015.
