Dynamo Set For 2016 Finale

Houston (CBS Houston) – A season that will see the Dynamo finish at least tied for last place in the Western Conference comes to an end Sunday when they face Colorado.

The meeting with Colorado will be the second match against the Rapids since October 8th. In that match, the Dynamo lost 3-2 in front of the home fans at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Colorado has clinched a playoff spot in the Western Conference, and is still alive for the Supporters’ Shield trophy, but needs some help in addition to a win for that to happen.

At home, Colorado is 11-0-5, and the only team in the MLS without a home loss.

In their last match, the Rapids fell 1-0 at Seattle to snap their three-match winning streak.

Shkelzen Gashi is the Rapids’ leader in goals with eight this season, while Dominique Badji and Kevin Doyle each have six.

Mauro Manotas leads the Dynamo in goals with six, and Boniek Garcia is the club leader with nine saves.

Joe Willis, who has filled in admirably for the injured Tyler Deric, won this week’s MLS save of the week for his double save in the shutout against Seattle last Wednesday.

The Dynamo most recently lost to the LA Galaxy, 1-0 on Sunday. With the loss the Dynamo are now winless in their last four matches, but are unbeaten in four straight road matches.

Listen to Sunday’s season finale on 650am with coverage starting at 2:30 p.m. for the prematch show.
