Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – Houston Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler will lead the Texans to Denver on Monday night to face the Denver Broncos in prime time.
A lot of the talk this week has been about the return of Osweiler to face his former team. His goal is to ignore the chatter.
“I feel like if I let outside noise and things that really aren’t relevant to the game plan, and emotions that aren’t relevant to the game creep in, really at the end of the day all it’s going to do is take me out of my game. So that’s why I’m trying to keep it as normal of a week as possible, ” Osweiler said.
When some Broncos players were asked about Brock’s return they joked that they ‘want to kill him.’ Osweiler responded with a laugh and said, “Seems like they miss me.”
Nothing has changed his game plan this week despite going into a hostile atmosphere.
“You know obviously I know what’s taking place, I’m going back to Denver and you know the whole free agency talk and all that stuff, you know I’m not blind to that. But at the end of the day, this football game isn’t going to determine our season in any regard.”
He has a big test in front of him Monday night. The Denver defense allows the fewest passing yards per game in the NFL.
The Houston offense ranks 30th in the league in points per game, passing yards per game and red zone touchdown percentage.
