Houston (CBS Houston) – The Dynamo will conclude the home portion of the regular season schedule Sunday as they host the LA Galaxy.
With a draw at Seattle on Wednesday, the Dynamo (7-13-12, 33 points) have now went four straight road matches without a defeat, but hope to stop a two loss losing streak at home.
With only five home wins the Dynamo are tied with three other teams for the lowest amount of home victories on the season.
The Dynamo trail Vancouver by just two points with two matches left to play as they try to get out of last place in the Western Conference.
Mauro Manotas is the club leader with six goals on the season, while Andrew Wenger and Alex each have five. Alex was suspended for Wednesday’s match against Seattle because of yellow card accumulation, but will be available on Sunday.
The LA Galaxy (11-6-15, 48 points) have been held without a win in their last three matches including back-to-back losses after going six matches in a row without a loss.
Despite the run of less than optimal form, the LA Galaxy have already locked a spot into the MLS playoffs, but still have plenty of postseason posturing to play for.
Giovani dos Santos leads the LA Galaxy with 14 goals this season, and tied for third in the league with 12 assists. Robbie Keane is second on the club with 10.
Landon Donovan came out of retirement in early September because of injuries within the team. The all time leader in MLS goals has appeared in four matches, all off the bench, and has scored one goal in 80 minutes.
The two teams have played twice this season with the Galaxy winning both. First a 4-1 win for the Galaxy at BBVA Compass Stadium in April, and then a 1-0 home win in July.
Listen to Sunday’s match between the Dynamo and the LA Galaxy, beginning with a 4 p.m. pregame show, on 650am.
