BRISTOL, CT (CBS HOUSTON) – ESPN Films announced on Monday that they will continue their award winning 30-for-30 documentary series this fall with three new additions with the first featuring the Phi Slama Jama Houston Cougars basketball team of the 1980’s

Phi Slama Jama will debut on October 18th and will dive into the era of Houston basketball that featured the rise of Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler and saw them reach three consecutive NCAA Final Fours.

Chip Reeves, who produced and directed MLB Network Presents: The Eighth Wonder of The World  immortalizing the Houston Astrodome, serves as the director of Phi Slama Jama.

The film will explore how this team electrified crowds and helped transform the college game under former coach Guy V Lewis. The film also is a mystery as they explore the disappearance of role player Benny Anders.

Two additional films will debut this fall. Hit it Hard  will explore the life and playing career of golfer John Daly. Catholics vs. Convicts will re-visit the 1988 college football match-up between the No.4- ranked Fighting Irish of Notre Dame and the top-ranked Miami Hurricanes. Hit it Hard will debut on Tuesday November 1 and Catholics vs. Convicts premiers on Saturday December 10.
