HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Despite his first round status, Texans rookie wideout Will Fuller has been a bit of a surprise with his production through three games.
The former Notre Dame receiver leads the Texans in receiving yards with 242 and has had a paid of 100+ yard receiving games. He is only the third player in NFL history to begin his career with back-to-back 100-yard receiving games.
Offensive coordinator George Godsey praised Fuller’s ability to learn and mentioned that he
“He’s a very astute player,” Godsey said. “He’s on top of his mistakes and writes his notes down and he looks to correct those the next day.”
Fuller laughed when he was asked if his persistent notetaking was due to him being fresh out of college. He expressed how important it is for him to write anything and everything down in practice and in the meetings.
“I jot down everything I can,” Fuller said. “I think if you write it down you remember it better so every little tip I get I write it down.
Fuller is looking to bounce back after last Thursday’s 27-0 loss in New England where he caught just three balls for 31 yards. Fuller is looking past the Patriots and onto a hard nosed secondary of the Titans.
“”I’m not worried about (the game versus New England) anymore. “We’re focussed on the Titans now. They’re real physical, they like to bump and run you so I got to get off that press.”
When he was asked if he’s surprised on what he’s been able to do so far this season.
“No not at all,” Fuller said.
