Houston (CBS Houston) – The Dynamo look to end a three match winless streak as they face Real Salt Lake in Utah.
Saturday’s match will be the third meeting between the two Western Conference foes. The home team has won both games this season.
The first match was played on April 30 when the Dynamo let a 1-0 lead slip away, falling to Real Salt Lake 2-1. Leonel Miranda, with an assist from Giles Barnes, was the Dynamo lone goal in the game.
In the rematch at BBVA Compass Stadium on May 15, Giles Barnes scored the match’s only goal to give the Dynamo a 1-0 win.
The Dynamo (5-11-11, 26 points) enter Saturday’s match with the worst record in the Western Conference, and are 1-9-4 in away matches.
Andrew Wenger paces the Dynamo in goals with five, while Boniek Garcia is the club leader in assists with eight.
Real Salt Lake (12-9-8, 44 points) enters Saturday’s home match in fourth place in the Western Conference, and in good positioning to make the postseason.
When playing at Rio Tinto Stadium, Real Salt Lake has been especially tough to play against with an unbeaten record of 8-0-6.
Joao Plata and Yura Movsisyan lead Real Salt Lake with nine goals each, and Juan Manuel Martinez has chipped in with seven on the season.
