HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Texans defensive end JJ Watt participation designation changed on the Texans injury report after practice on Thursday. Watt was listed as a “limited” participant for a back injury.
Watt was a full participant on Wednesday.
The designation is likely not a concern as Watt was seen in warm-ups with the entire team during the session of practice open to the media.
Watt made his return from offseason back surgery on Sunday against Chicago and recorded just one tackle in the game. Watt mentioned after the game he was still trying to “knock some rust off”
Other downgrades included defensive end Christian Covington (groin) and tackle Derek Newton (knee). Both were downgraded to limited participation.
Jeff Allen was limited in practice for the second straight day with a calf injury.
None of the limited participants, including Watt, are expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
