HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Texans left tackle Duane Brown didn’t reveal much about a return date on Wednesday as he continues to battle to return from his offseason surgery to repair a torn quadriceps muscle.
The all-pro offensive lineman is now in his ninth NFL season, but he’s missed all of training camp and the first week’s game against the Chicago Bears. Bill O’Brien ruled out the former Pro Bowler for a return this week against Kansas City.
Brown has mentioned over the last several weeks he is getting better, but still can’t say when he can return to the field.
“No target date yet,” Brown said. “I should be on the practice field soon. It just won’t be this week”
Brown alluded to him and the team taking their time as it relates for his return. Brown’s feeling is that he wants to be fully healthy before stepping back onto the field.
“It’s coming along great. Every day I’m feeling pretty good,” Brown said. “At the same time just try not to rush it.” “I want to be out there consistently and not battling with it every day so the progress that I’ve made, just trying to keep that going.”
