Houston Jumps To No. 6 In New AP Poll

The Houston Cougars jumped nine spots in first AP poll for College Football after games had been played.  The Cougars started the pre-season poll at No.15 coming off an impressive win over the 3rd ranked Oklahoma Sooners, UH now sits inside the top ten at No. 6.

The loss at NRG stadium for the Sooners sees the team fall out of the top 10 from the 3rd spot before the season started to No.14 after week one.

UH takes on Lamar on Saturday at 11am in their second game of the season. The game was just picked up by CW39 to be aired locally on television.  Previously it was only going to be streamed online.

Alabama stays in the No. 1 position in the AP Poll. Texas (11), Wisconsin (10), Texas A&M (20) & Miami (Fla.) (25) all are newcomers to the poll this week.

Louisville, possibly UH’s toughest test the rest of the season, moved from 19th to 13th in this weeks poll.
