Kansas City (CBS HOUSTON) – The Kansas City Chiefs were dealt a major blow to their impressive pass rush on Tuesday when they placed outside linebacker Justin Houston on the physically unable to perform list.
Houston, the 2014 NFL leader in sacks, played just 11 games in 2015 recording 7.5 sacks for the Chiefs. By placing him on the PUP list Houston can not play for the Chiefs until at least 7 of the season.
The Chiefs play the Houston Texans in week two at NRG stadium. It will be the third meeting between the two teams since the start of the 2015 season. Houston had one sack and five tackles in the two games last year in Houston.
The Texans will also face a team without their star in week three as Tom Brady will be out for the New England Patriots to serve his suspension for the Deflategate scandal.
