HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – Texans Head Coach Bill O’Brien shared details of this week’s joint practice schedule with the visiting New Orleans Saints at his Monday press conference at NRG Stadium.
The Texans and Saints will face each other on Saturday night in the second pre-season game for both teams in 2016.
The joint practice will be the second straight week of joint practices for both teams. The Saints held a joint practice session with the New England Patriots in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The Texans just returned from Santa Clara from their joint practice and pre-season match-up against the 49ers.
The Texans will host the Saints for a full-padded practice on Thursday outside at the Methodist Training Center.
“We’ll have a really good pro football practice,” O’Brien said “It will be a lot of fun and I know our players will be excited about it; to see a different team and see different schemes and things like that.”
In addition the two teams will come together for a second situational practice on Friday on the eve of the game where the teams will hold a much more situational style practice. O’Brien called it more of an “OTA tempo practice” and not a live practice with the pre-season game on tap for Saturday night.
