Cleveland (CBS HOUSTON) – The Cleveland Browns have a starting quarterback and it is former number two overall pick Robert Griffin III. Just a week into training camp Head Coach Hue Jackson has decided the offseason signing will supplant Josh McCown as the main signal caller for Cleveland in 2016.
The former Baylor standout will be the 26th quarterback to start for the Browns since they rejoined the NFL in 1999. The only year they have started a single quarterback for all 16 games was 2001 when Tim Couch led Cleveland to a 7-9 record.
Last season the Browns started McCown, Johnny Manziel & Austin Davis on the way to a 3-13 record.
Griffin hasn’t taken a snap since 2014 when he played in 9 games for the Washington Redskins.
