Houston (CBS Houston) – Matteo Mancosu’s 76th minute goal lifts Montreal past the Dynamo, 1-0.
With the loss the Dynamo have now gone five straight matches without a win, and goal scoring has been tough to come by.
Despite the lack of goals, the Dynamo again created chances that should have been paid off. The Dynamo came out strong and were getting out on the attack while also pressuring Montreal.
In the third minute Will Bruin took a shot from the middle of the box that was saved by Evan Bush.
Bruin had another chance in the 11th minute that just missed wide of the post. Replay showed that Bush touched the shot, but the referee didn’t award the corner kick.
The clubs went into the locker room in a nil-nil tie. Bruin gave the Dynamo another chance in the 50th minute when Bush saved another shot.
In the 67th minute, Christian Maidana sent in a strong service that David Horst headed on frame, but against Bush was there for the save.
Mancosu scored the game’s only goal after Montreal took possession away and sent a pass to Mancosu, who was able to spin out of trouble and skip a shot by Joe Willis.
Ricardo Clark left the game in the second half with a groin strain according to the club.
David Horst in the 41st minute, and Sheanon Williams in the 61st picked up the only two yellow cards of the match.
Evan Bush saved five shots on his way to picking up a shutout for Montreal.
Even in defeat, Joe Willis had another strong match filling in for the injured Tyler Deric.
