DeAndre Hopkins Ends Hold Out With No New Contract

Houston (CBS HOUSTON) – The hold out of the Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins didn’t last very long.  After not reporting to Texans training camp on Saturday with the rest of the veterans Hopkins decided to return after missing just the first practice of Training Camp.

Tania Ganguli posted this note from Hopkins:

“I too am disappointed that the Texans organization has elected not to enter into contract negotiation to secure my future as a Texan. I have expressed my sincere position regarding my contract status and with sound mind have expressed my stands to the Texans organization.  My focus also is on the 2016 season and to help my team reach our ultimate goal. Having said that I am returning to the Houston Texans to play for the Superbowl (sic) in Houston, Texas.  I will be holding a 3pm press conference at Reliant stadium today. We are excited about returning to the team and grind this camp.

God Bless DeAndre Hopkins.”

The Texans have said there will not be a press conference on Sunday, but Hopkins will speak if he’s at practice on Monday.
