Dynamo Trade Barnes To Vancouver

Houston (CBS Houston) – Once Dynamo captain, Giles Barnes, has been traded to Vancouver for general allocation money and the rights to Keyner Brown.

Barnes four goals this season are tied for the team lead with Will Bruin and Andrew Wenger.

Brown is a 24-year-old Costa Rican defender currently playing with Herediano in the Costa Rican first division and the club can try and sign him to a contract. In addition to the allocation money the Dynamo keep a percentage of any future transfer or loan of Barnes outside of the MLS

With the trade the Dynamo create chances for some of the younger players on the roster. Mauro Manotas appears to be the biggest benefactor with Erick Torres also away from the club.

The Dynamo are home for San Jose Sunday night at BBVA Compass Stadium as Wade Barrett faces his old manager Dominic Kinnear for the first time. Pregame coverage gets underway at 7:30 p.m. on Sports Radio 610.
