Houston Dynamo & Houston Police Ask Fans To Stand With Dallas For U.S. Open Cup Match Vs. FC Dallas

On Wednesday night, the Houston Dynamo will host FC Dallas in one of the U.S. Open Cup Quarterfinal matches. The Dynamo and Houston Police are asking that fans stand with Dallas at BBVA Compass Stadium by donating at the game to the Line of Duty Fund.

Houston police officers will be stationed at each entry gate prior to the game collecting money to benefit the families of the Dallas Police Department and DART officers who were killed in the line of duty on July 7th in Dallas.

“While we are fierce rivals on the field, it’s important to remember that we are all neighbors at the end of the day,” said Dynamo president Chris Canetti. “When you see people hurting, you want to help, and this is just a small way for us to show the people of Dallas that Houston is here for them and that we support them.”

The two teams will be led onto the field by uniformed members of the Houston and Dallas Police Departments. Additionally, there will be a moment of silence prior to kickoff to honor the Dallas officers as well as the Baton Rouge, La. officers and Bellaire PD officer that have lost their lives in the last week.
