HOUSTON (CBS HOUSTON) – J.J. Watt said his groin finally gave out on him in the Texans 30-0 loss to the Chiefs on Saturday.
“Terrible not to be out there with my teammates,” said Watt. “I’ve been trying to do whatever I possibly can do to be out there with them.”
Watt has been on the injury report with the groin since before the Buffalo game at the start of December. He said he tried to do today “whatever he possibly could” to be out there.
It finally hit the point where the risk wasn’t worth the return.
“There comes a time where you’re doing more harm than good,” Watt said. “And when you can’t go, you can’t go.”
As far as the severity of it, Watt didn’t mince words.
“It’s extremely painful. It’s pretty bad.”
